End of an era - Space shuttle Endeavour on 12/10/08 after the STS-126 mission & mounted on its modified Boeing 747 carrier aircraft - flying over California's Mojave Desert on 3-day trip from Edwards AFB back to the Kennedy Space Center in Florida. Its final home is the California Science Center & can be viewed at Samuel Oschin Space Shuttle Endeavour Display Pavilion from 10/30/12, along with companion exhibits about its missions & the California shuttle program, where the orbiters were built.

The space shuttle Endeavour being piggy-backed on a 747 to it's new home at the California Science Center in Los Angeles. Very sad to see these magnificent vessels become museum pieces after the 30 year shuttle programme ended in July 2011.
