STRAWBERRY FOXGLOVE (Digitalis x mertonensis): A truly perennial foxglove sporting rich pink to rose flower spikes in early summer. Great in part shade and composty soil. All parts of the plants are poisonous if eaten.
This client has a lot of shade to deal with. The property is beautiful with many established trees. The customer wanted a large mulched area planted up. These hosta's are called sum and substance, the leaves, at full growth will be about three feet long by one foot wide. Very dramatic. The apple green color is contrasted with dark purple, almost black mondo grass along with other plants.
CORAL BELLS (Heuchera hybrids): Once you start collecting these shade loving plants you won't be able to stop. Exquisite leaf colors and airy spring or summer spikes of delicate white, pink, lilac, or scarlet flowers. Great in shade planters.
