Wrap up twenty-five children's books and put them under the tree with a special blanket next to them. Before bed each evening, your kids choose one book to open and read together until Christmas. Love it! This might be better than an advent calendar!!
LOVE this idea for the first morning our Elf is here! Mel the Elf, swimming in a sink of mini marshmallows, and a bowl of powdered donuts for breakfast with a little treat for the kids, and of course the Elf on a Shelf book to read!

Glittering Santa Ornament - glitter the inside of a clear, round ornament with Glitter It! (you can find Glitter It! at Michaels or other craft stores). Secure a black ribbon around the middle of the ornament, and glue mini rhinestones for the buckle
My suggestion-check ebay before cutting up old yardsticks. They are collected and some are worth big money. Depends on advertising/condition but think of the craft supplies you could buy with the money you made from selling. That said, this is so cute!
