This is truly good lasagna. I made it for Christmas dinner, and it was a dish worthy of the occasion. You can also just make the meat and tomato sauce and serve it over pasta, skipping all the work of lasagna assembly. When I made it, I subbed the suggested meats for 1 lb. lean ground beef and 1 lb. ground lamb. Superb.
