    All but abandoned.

#Newfane, Vermont is a quintessential New England village. The quaint town center transports you back in time with the large, white buildings.

Bennington Battle Monument. Built in the middle of a Revolutionary War Battle Field. The Battle of Bennington occurred here in 1777. The Monument was completed in 1891. It is 306 feet high and is constructd of blue-grey magnesian limestone from Hudson Falls, New York. An elevator takes you up to the viewing floor. The slot windows on each side give a breath taking view. Three states can be seen from the tower. Bennington, Vermont. Photo by Mike Dacy. October 1995
