Originally seen on Dwell Magazine this 40′ by 8′ container was converted into a lush 320 square foot home. Compact and yet luxurious. It was done with the help of Jim Poteet, a Texas architect. According to Dwell, Stacey Hill wanted it made for the artist community she lives in.

Ladybug Habitat

+/- I didn't know what kind of a tube to use or where to find it, so for the meantime I painted a toilet paper roll red with black polka dots and wrote "Ladybug Hotel" on it and put it in a tree. Lady bugs are a natural pest control. Keep more of them around by filling a 4"x1' long tube with sticks. The lady bugs will make it their home and watch over your garden.

No more mosquito's!! Cut the top (just before the start of the cone) off a 2 liter bottle. Invert the cone and place it inside the straight part of the bottle. Glue the two pieces together, using a glue or silicon. Add 1 tsp yeast and 1/2 cup sugar to some luke warm water, and pour the mixture into the bottle. Mosquitoes are attracted to the carbon dioxide that you exhale. The yeast feeds off the sugar and emits the same gas, so the mosquito enters the bottle, thinking she will find food…

Speaking of the Garden...

How to get more peppers from your green pepper plants: "Spray the plant with Epsom salts (1 teaspoon dissolved in a spray bottle of warm water (about 4 cups). That gives the pepper plant a boost of magnesium that is required at flowering time to produce fruit. Spray them again 10 days later and in a few weeks, our expert friends report, you will have more peppers than you can eat."
