Violinist, late 1800s. I'm always fascinated by how serious people always look in old photographs.

Shorpy Historical Photo Archive :: Mother and Her Sisters: 1912
A portrait of a Mother and her seven daughters 1912...this grabbed me because you don't often see people in theses old photos that are beautiful by modern standards. These girls are unusually beautiful. I'm guessing which one is the mother, but I couldn't tell for sure.
The family of the girl from the canal: (from upper left) mother Aleksandra, sisters Olya, Tanya, Masha, the girl from the canal Anyastasya, sisters Alyona, Katerina, and Irina

Anybody high-tech enough to remember your family making use of this ingenious tool? Yes, but we used a Coca Cola bottle. Momma would sprinkle the clothes with this, roll them up and put them in the refrigerator till she was ready to iron.
This oven was made for cupcake baking. Hoooow cute?!
