I used to have this exact desk when I was a kid.
School desks at the Catholic school- Yes nothing like a Nun slamming your fingers with these tops!
Classic old elementary school desk.
Vintage school desk (there was a hole at the top, center of the desk to hold a bottle of ink.) There were indentations on both sides of the ink well to hold pencils. The writing surface was hinged at the top, and our school supplies were stored inside. There was a lever on the underside of the wood part that sat on the metal tray inside and that made the writing surface level.
Use an old school desk in kid's room for doing drawing/work.

*MY FRIEND FLICKA, 1955-1958 Saturday mornings....
My Friend Flicka is a 39-episode western television series set at the fictitious Goose Bar Ranch in Wyoming at the turn of the 20th century. The program was filmed in color but initially aired in black and white on CBS at 7:30 p.m. Fridays from February 10, 1956, to February 1, 1957. It was a mid-season replacement for Gene Autry's The Adventures of Champion. Both series, however failed in the ratings against ABC's The Adventures of Rin Tin Tin.

Utopian Sanford's Library Paste -- (vintage school)
Letterology: Please Don't Eat the Library Paste: The Sanford's Library Paste jar was curiously called "Utopian" because of their patented central chamber which kept the brush and paste in perfect condition, so long as the brush-well was kept half full of water.

I remember.. this was our playlist. Used to ride our stingray bikes to the record shop and use money from "the change jar" to buy 45s. Usually just 1 or 2 at a time was all we could afford.
45 RPM records with a stacker -- This was so neat, except when two 45s fell at the same time, and the one on the bottom that didn't get played that time around was your favorite song!

metal jungle gym. Our kids will never know the pain of hot monkey bars.
Metal monkeybars: a playground staple.
metal jungle gym :) no plastic here. It is sad that most playgrounds that I used to play on when I was a kid have been closed, but it was for a good reason. You won't believe how many friends I had that had to go to the ER because of bumps, and broken arms!

I did something while I was mailing out my letters to the publishing houses. A very small act of kindness for an old Indian man. The awesome thing is that when I finally went out to go get in my car, the old Indian man had waited in his truck and he called out to me and said, "Thank you". I said, " No problem". Then he said, " You will be blessed". Him saying that couldn't have happened at a more perfect time. Blessed by an old Indian man....~ "No Unturned Stone" - A Mother's Quest by Sandy Lee

oh yeah... standing and swinging
I remember this feeling...
Standing up swinging. . . Summer fun!
Oh yeah...standing and swinging...totally could NOT do this on the swings at school! Of course, the most dangerous playground equipment back then was the see-saws. Don't know how many kids accidentally walked under the upraised end of a see-saw and got whacked on the head. Guess that's why they outlawed them while I was still in elementary school!
