Columbine Aquilegia vulgaris Dorothy Rose - aka: Granny's Bonnet. Perennial blooms spring to summer, zones 3-9. Just planted one of these in my east side garden.
Aquilegia vulgaris Dorothy Rose Columbine, Granny's Bonnet- Unique flowers display serveral dangling tubes of rose-pink in each bloom. These unique flowers are held well above blue-gray foliage - dark stems add to the appeal. Very nice for naturalizing or as a specimen plant; some welcome self-sowing will occur if seed heads are allowed to mature. Very attractive as a cut flower. Granny's Bonnets have been around for centuries, but this lovely lady was introduced at Chelsea Gardens in 1999.
