ELIZABETH TUDOR (b.1533-d.1603). QUEEN IN HER OWN RIGHT from 17th November, 1558 until her death on 24rth March, 1603. HOUSE OF TUDOR. PICTURE: The Rainbow Portrait of Queen Elizabeth I, circa 1601-1602.
Isaac Oliver (attrib.), "The Rainbow Portrait of Queen Elizabeth I" (c. 1600-1602), oil on canvas, 50 x 39 in.
Attributed to Isaac Oliver (1556–1617) or Attributed to Marcus Gheeraerts the Younger (1561-1636) — The Rainbow Portrait of Queen Elizabeth I, 1600-1602 (722×1023) - detail
The "rainbow portrait" of Queen Elizabeth I (1600ish, attributed to Isaac Oliver), at Hatfield House, is a pretty literal example of how colours can fade over time... as the rainbow Elizabeth holds in her right hand looks more like a piece of broad aquarium tubing today.
The Rainbow Portrait, an image of Elizabeth I as the "Queen of Love and Beauty" by Isaac Oliver c. 1600, epitomizes the elaborate iconography associated with later Tudor court portraiture.
The Rainbow Portrait Of Queen Elizabeth I As "The Queen Of Love And Beauty" -- 1600-1602 -- Isaac Oliver -- Belonging to the Marquess of Salisbury - On display @ Hatfield House -- Hatfield, Hertfordshire, England
I LOVE the history of the Tudors, especially Queen Elizabeth I

Coco Chanel- Faux Pearls I really like the Chanel brand and it's fashion pieces because it's elegant and makes women look independent which is what the brand was always about -empowering women
Coco Chanel. The heart of classicality, Coco Chanel was the only fashion icon to make Time's "100 Most Important People of the Century" list. She, herself worth $168 million, left a legacy worth approximately $4.5 billion with Chanel No. 5.
One of the most innovative fashion designers Coco Chanel was instrumental in defining feminine style and dress during the 20th Century. Her ideas were revolutionary; in particular she often took traditionally male clothes and redesigned them for the benefit of women. Listed by TIME magazine as one of the top100 influential people of twentieth Century.
Happy International Women's Day, Coco Chanel is one of the women that inspire me! http://manonm.be/2012/03/powerful-women-on-international-womens-day/
Inspiring people. Changing lives. Coco Chanel is truly a legend, and a superb one at that. She will always be special.
Coco Chanel is an insperation for me. Her family grew up with no money, her mother died when she was five, and her father abanded her, so then she was placed in an orphange. Overall she came over the hardship of her childhood and became a very sucessful fashion designer. I added this because she inspired me to be a fashion designer.
The woman who inspires me (besides my mother)... Gabrielle Bonheur "Coco" Chanel
