on the left-hand side is a winding metal staircase down the cliff right by the falls. It's called Uncle Tom's Trail, and my whole family hiked down and up it two summers ago. We went to the right-hand-side observation area afterwards, saw the staircase, and were like: 'We took a family with five kids down that thing?'
Yellowstone River, Hayden Valley, Yellowstone National Park. Stop on the Grizzly Overlook and use binoculars to check for wolves and grizzlies. Look down along the banks of the Yellowstone River below for otters at play. We saw a family of five one night playing among the logs.
