DIY - City Farmhouse

A wonderful example of a mid-western schrank cupboard built by immigrants from either Germany or Switzerland. This cupboard is from the early to mid 19th century. It seems that these were designed and built in a number of different configurations. This particular schrank is particularly functional with the four dovetailed drawers to the left of the cabinet door. We might know it today as a linen cupboard or armoire.

Primitive Cabinet ...good storage, old but user friendly. Nice combination with the galvanized metal collection on top.

The Polished Pebble: Collecting--Firkins. What is a Firkin? Well, think of it as the tupperware of the late 1800s. Families would store flour and grains in these. Often they are signed in pencil on the lids as to whom they once belonged to.
