Rare Provencal plaid caraco from the french Revolution period Circa 1795/1800 Rare popular printed cotton Caraco/camisole blue red white dating from the post-revolutionary period. Amazing weaving tight little blue and red plaid ... Caracaca or pet-en-l'air reduced to its simplest form, sleeves cubits or mitaine. Closure on the front with two drawstrings and pinning to the chest. This jacket is fully lined with linen. Excellent condition and preservation.

Narrow sea green vertical stripe over cream and tan horizontal bands, open neck, short angled sleeve, pleated peplum angled at front, all trimmed in wide self furbelows, looped silk cord and tiny tassels, lined in linen with adjustable lacing closure and front stays.
