Great tweet chat from space on @Twitter today. Thank you to all - including Mr. President - who joined me and asked Qs about my #YearInSpace so far. I enjoyed connecting with people back on Earth. --Astronaut Scott Kelly from the International Space Station

50 years ago today, Astronaut Ed White became the first American to spacewalk during the Gemini IV mission on June 3, 1965. Without that first courageous step, construction of the International Space Station would not have been possible. www.nasa.gov/suitup ‪#‎SuitUp #spacestation #space #suitup #spacewalk #spacewalk50 #nasa

    Nice photo.

Houston ground control moving the Leonardo Permanent Multipurpose Module (PMM) using the #Canadarm2 - thanks to crew mate Gennady Padalka for the time-lapse video. From @astro_terry onboard the International Space Station.

SpaceX’s Dragon cargo vehicle journeyed over land and water, night and day on its 2-day trip to deliver more than 2 tons of science and supplies for the crew on the International Space Station. Astronaut Samantha Cristoforetti guided the Canadarm2 and grappled the Dragon as it floated just 10 meters away from the space station at about 6:55 ET this morning. The crew will open the hatches to Dragon Saturday morning and begin 5 weeks of cargo transfer activities. Aside from crew supplies, Dragon brought new science gear including items for the Rodent Research-2 experiment and the station’s first espresso machine, the ISSpresso, which will provide espresso, tea, consommé and other hot beverages. #spacestation #NASA #science #coffee #SpaceX #Dragon #space #ISS

Great job Samantha Cristoforetti and @Astro_Terry capturing #SpaceX Dragon this morning! #YearInSpace #nasa #ISScargo #ISS #Dragon

Between 1987 and 1999, four Russian cosmonauts spent a year or more consecutively in space. Now, for the first time, an American astronaut, @StationCDRKelly, will be joining that exclusive club, as he and Russian cosmonaut Mikhail Kornienko inhabit the station for a year. The crew launches to the space station at 3:42 p.m. ET this Friday. Learn more: www.nasa.gov/oneyear #YearInSpace #NASA #Space #milestone #JourneyToMars

"Adrift, Part 5: Beyond politics, America and Russia soar in space." This is the fifth story in a series that will look at the state of America’s space program. In this installment we travel to the Asian desert where human spaceflight began to determine whether NASA and Russia have a future together in space. From the Houston Chronicle.

Astronauts Barry Wilmore (left) and Terry Virts are spacewalking today to rig cables on the International Space Station. The cable work will prepare the orbital lab for a pair of International Docking Adapters (IDAs) to be delivered later this year on two SpaceX Dragon missions. The IDAs will enable future commercial vehicles from Boeing and SpaceX to dock to the space station. #NASA #InternationalSpaceStation #Astronaut #SpaceX #Dragon #CommercialCrew #Boeing #ISS #IDA #spacewalk #ootw #outofthisworld
