(09/23/2015) --- The Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) Kounotori 5 H-II Transfer Vehicle (HTV-5) is seen illuminated during a night pass with the Nile river lit up on the Earth below. The cargo vehicle was berthed to the International Space Station for 5 weeks, being released on Sept. 28, 2015 after delivering almost 5 tons of hardware and supplies.

SpaceX’s Dragon cargo vehicle journeyed over land and water, night and day on its 2-day trip to deliver more than 2 tons of science and supplies for the crew on the International Space Station. Astronaut Samantha Cristoforetti guided the Canadarm2 and grappled the Dragon as it floated just 10 meters away from the space station at about 6:55 ET this morning.
