Cheyenne Warriors - photo Edward Curtis
Photograph of Native American Indian Cheyenne Warriors on horseback taken 29 Nov 1864. It was the day that U.S. military forces massacred hundreds of Cheyenne non-combatants in the Colorado Territory.
Cheyenne Indians, one of the most westerly tribes of the Algonquian nation. They were seated on the Cheyenne, a branch of the Red River of the North. Driven by the Sioux, they retreated beyond the Missouri. Near the close of the eighteenth century they were driven to or near the Black Hills (now in the Dakotas and Wyoming), where Lewis and Clarke found them in 1804, when they possessed horses and made plundering raids as far as New Mexico.

Anne Boleyn ( /ˈbʊlɪn/, /bəˈlɪn/ or /bʊˈlɪn/); c.1501 – 19 May 1536) was Queen of England from 1533 to 1536 as the second wife of Henry VIII of England and Marquess of Pembroke in her own right. Henry's marriage to Anne, and her subsequent execution, made her a key figure in the political and religious upheaval that was the start of the English Reformation.
Anne Boleyn, second wife of Henry VIII. Her refusal to bed the king as a mistress as her sister had done, added to her appeal and helped Henry along in his decision to divorce his wife, Catherine of Aragon (daughter of Spain's famous rulers Ferdinand and Isabella). Anne did not provide the king with a happy home or a son, being only the mother of Elizabeth I (a future Queen). Anne's inability to conceive a male heir led to her execution for adultery, incest and high treason on May 19, 1536.

Anne Boleyn (between 1501&1507-1536). She was the daughter of Thomas Boleyn, 1st Earl of Wiltshire and his wife, Lady Elizabeth Howard. She was created Marquess of Pembroke in her own right in 1532. She was Queen of England (1533-1536) as the wife of King Henry VIII. Her only child surviving to adulthood was Queen Elizabeth I.
May 19, 1536 - Queen Anne Boleyn is beheaded for adultery, treason, and incest. Boleyn was the second wife of King Henry VIII. The marriage between Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn followed the annulment of Henry's marriage to Catherine of Aragon by Thomas Cranmer, Archbishop of Canterbury. Consequently, this led to the excommunication of Henry and Cramner by Pope Paul III. As a result, the Church of England broke away from Rome and was brought under the King's control. #history #anneboleyn #tudor
Anne Boleyn (d. 5/19/1536) was Queen of England; 2nd wife to King Henry VIII. Educated in France and the Netherlands, Boleyn came to English court as a consort to Henry VIII's then-wife, Catherine of Aragon. King Henry became smitten with Boleyn. Unable to be granted a divorce by the Roman Catholic Church, Henry renounced the Church and ushered in the Protestant Reformation in England, divorced Catherine for not producing a male heir, and married Boleyn. She was ultimately beheaded.
