Firepit backyard area - love the lights too!

pretty firepit patio backyard area - I like the sand, rocks and simple blocks to keep everything contained. It might be pretty to use beach sand too. Like a beach bonfire

Fire pit and pallet sitting. I loved this. Only money i spent was for cushions covers and mulch. Palleys from any store u can get them. Cushions are your choice i found out futon mattress ( in trash) cut them down to size for cushions and used extra to make bolster pillows. Already had paint. Wheel borrow was old unused in shed and rocks came from side of road.

fire pit, all big rocks found around family property

fire pit, all big rocks found around family property

I made this fire pit at home after camping in Maine. Super easy. You will need a fire ring, or if you can find one, a tractor trailer rim works too. Dig a hole approximately 4" deep, and the diameter of the ring. Place ring in hole, and back fill with the dirt removed from the hole. . I got all the slate and other rocks on my property, so no cost there. Surround the pit, as shown, and because the ring has no bottom, it will drain naturally into the ground when it rains.
