The 2014 Olympic Winter Games will begin in one year on February 6, 2014, in Sochi, Russia. Sochi is a resort city on the scenic shores of the Black Sea. Mountains form the backdrop on one side and the Black Sea on the other. The mountains are spectacular and have a look that is distinct from the Alps or the Rockies. There are steep, dramatic rises, and there has been plenty of snow for the ongoing test events. The Sochi Olympics will have a compelling mountain setting.
