Not in my house, but cool idea: Wooden Steer Skull

Wooden Steer Skull

highcamphome.com

I bought this chair for $30 on CraigsList because I liked the design. However, it is in pretty bad shape and until I have the budget for reupholstering it, I thought I'd camouflage the worn out and stained original upholstery with a bottle of Rit liquid dye, a paintbrush and my garden hose. It was super easy and I think the chair looks SO much better! P.S. This is the second time I've dyed an upholstered chair (see my studio for the other chair). I've been sitting in the first chair daily…

Tulip Fabric Spray Paint Chair

Spray paint a chair. I have passed up furniture in the thrift store because I didn't like the fabric and don't want to reupholster but this I can do.

Chalk Paint vs Latex Paint on Furniture

chalk paint is a self primer, looks aged. latex requires a primer and does not look aged. Chalk Paint Requires Waxing - After you apply the chalk paint, you will need to seal the finish with wax. Its another step that costs $ and requires learning the technique of applying wax to get a nice finish. Chalk paint needs to be diluted if spraying. Also is more expensive.
