chalk paint is a self primer, looks aged. latex requires a primer and does not look aged. Chalk Paint Requires Waxing - After you apply the chalk paint, you will need to seal the finish with wax. Its another step that costs $ and requires learning the technique of applying wax to get a nice finish. Chalk paint needs to be diluted if spraying. Also is more expensive.
