Ollantaytambo, Peru. Parts of this ancient city date back at least 12,000 years. Archeologists are still perplexed as to how some of the earliest humans were able to move massive blocks of granite (some weighing 50 tons) without the use of modern machinery. No tools have been unearthed in the area and the rocks appear to be “fused” together.

The London Artifact is an iron hammer that is surrounded by a solid mass of "cretaceous" rock. The handle of the hammer is made of wood and it is partially petrified. It was discovered in London, Texas. In June 1936, Max and Emma Hahn were walking along Red Creek, near their home when they spotted a rock nodule with a piece of wood sticking out of it. Their son George broke it open revealing a metal hammer in the center of the nodule to which the wooden handle was attached.

South African miners have found hundreds of these metallic spheres, which have three parallel grooves running around their equator. The spheres are 1-4 inches in diameter. The curator of the Klerksdorp Museum insists that they are a complete mystery. They appear to be man-made, yet at the time in Earth's history when they came to rest in this rock no intelligent life existed. The spheres have been found in a Precambrian mineral deposit said to be 2.8 billion-years-old!
