Hairy Frogfish. We have not right to destroy a world we don't understand. We are not primitive animals, and can see that our actions could wipe out the cures for our diseases, and the very things that keep us alive and able to enjoy life.

Hairy Frogfish ~ There's some pretty bizzarre looking things down in the deep blue sea!
Deep Sea Glass Squid, a semi-transparent sea creature with big luminescent eyes and tentacles. Divers who encounter this animal underwater might think they were about to be abducted by ET. One gander at this blue, semi-transparent organism with its bioluminescent eyes and tentacles and its hard to imagine anything more alien-like. It may look terrifying, but it's actually quite delicate, with a very thin skin and is the prey of many deep sea fish, whales and oceanic seabirds.

Deep Ocean Sea Life alien?
Deep Sea Glass Squid: These cool looking animals can be found in the middle depths of the ocean where the sun-lit water combined with their transparency makes a pretty good camouflage. Most of the Glass Squid species have a swollen body with incredibly short arms. Also, they will often have a large chamber filled with Ammonia which they use to assist with their buoyancy control. Or, perhaps an alien...

Porcupine Fish are known for their ability to inflate themselves like a soccer ball of spikes. I don't know about you, but just because this white underwater creature looks like it's smiling doesn't mean I'M going to put my finger near it! RESEARCH -DdO:) - http://www.pinterest.com/DianaDeeOsborne/underwater-glory/ - When a porcupinefish is frightened, it pumps water into its body. Thus it is commonly called blowfish, or sometimes puffer fish.
Pufferfish ✿ #ocean life
Real(Mislabeled) - Pinned as a Puffer - Porcupinefish are fish of the family Diodontidae, (order Tetraodontiformes), also commonly called blowfish (and, sometimes, balloonfish and globefish). They are sometimes collectively (but erroneously) called pufferfish, not to be confused with the morphologically similar and closely related Tetraodontidae, who are more commonly given this name.

Tongue Eating Parasite- Not Science Fiction Found Off Jersey Shore
This is so cool, what is it called? It's a bizarre creature that survives by eating its hosts' tongue and then attaching itself inside the mouth. The sea-dwelling parasite attacks fish, burrows into it, and then devours its tongue. After eating the tongue, the parasite proceeds to live inside the fish's mouth. Pretty sure there is legitimately a horror movie JUST LIKE THIS! OMG!!
strange animals discovered - Google Search
okay DISGUSTING, The Cymothoa exigua, more commonly known as the tongue-eating louse, The isopod enters through the gills of the fish and attaches itself to the base of the fish's tongue. Using its claws, the louse extracts blood from the tongue, gradually causing it to atrophy from lack of blood. Then, the parasite replaces the fish's tongue by attaching itself to the muscles of the exposed tongue stub. The fish uses the louse just like it would naturally use its tongue! Oh how weird and gross!
Cymothoa exigua or Tongue eating louse a parasitic crustacean, grows to 1 in – 1.6 in., attaches itself at the base of a fish’s tongue entering the fish’s mouth through its gills. It extracts blood through claws on its front three pairs of legs. As it grows, less blood reaches the tongue and the organ atrophies and it replaces the fish’s tongue by attaching its own body to the muscles of the tongue stub. The fish uses the parasite just like a normal tongue.
It's a bizarre creature that survives by eating its hosts' tongue and then attaching itself inside the mouth. The sea-dwelling parasite attacks fish, burrows into it, and then devours its tongue. After eating the tongue, the parasite proceeds to live inside the fish's mouth. There's a horror film waiting to be made about this thing. Surprisingly, the fish doesn't seem to suffer any severe impediment--just the loss of its tongue--and seems to have no trouble surviving with its new tongue | http://beautifulbirdofparadise389.blogspot.com

Nembrotha cristata - alpaca of the sea - usually brilliantly coloured. Some sea slugs secrete acid from stinging cells in their tentacles while others secrete acid from cells in their mantle. Nudibranchs are slow moving, can swim or be propelled along either by muscular contraction or by millions of tiny hairs on the bottom of a fleshy 'foot', and feed with a rasp like tongue. Nudibranch lay their eggs in a ribbon effect on the sand, in different colours depending on species.

PYGMY SEAHORSE (hippocampus bargibanti) ©Vickie Coker, Austin, Texas) The pygmy seahorse evolved its knobby body and rosy color to blend in with gorgonians (sea fans) of the genus Muricella, where the seahorse makes its home among the coral reefs of the Western Pacific. These fish are so tiny (only two centimeters in height) and so well camouflaged that they weren’t discovered until someone had collected the host gorgonian and placed it into an aquarium and then noticed little seahorses. I'd love to see one of these up close, they're really prolific at work on night shift but the little critters are fast! Ghost Bat endemic to Australia, named for the extremely thin membrane of its wings that makes it appear ghostly at night. Ghost Bats have grey fur on their backs and pale grey or white fur on their undersides. They have long, narrow wings but no tail, averaging 11 cm in length. They are the only carnivorous bat in Australia. Roost in caves, mines, and tunnels.
amazing albino bat...
Ghost Bat Bats are mammals whose forelimbs form webbed wings, making them the only mammals naturally capable of true and sustained flight. By contrast, other mammals said to fly, such as flying squirrels, gliding possums, and colugos, can only glide for short distances. Bats do not flap their entire forelimbs, as birds do, but instead flap their spread-out digits, which are very long and covered with a thin membrane or patagium.

Christmas Tree Worms: Spirobranchus giganteus, more commonly known as Christmas tree worms, are tube-building polychaete worms. They live on tropical coral reefs around the world and have two, tree-like protrusions.
The Christmas tree worm (Spirobranchus giganteus) is a small, tube-building marine polychaete worm. Both its common and Latin names refer to the two spiral structures, the most common feature seen by divers, which resemble Christmas trees. These are specialized mouth appendages which trap prey microorganisms and also act as respiratory structures. Photo: Nick Hobgood File:Spirobranchus giganteus (Red and white christmas tree worm).jpg
