ca. 1730. Mughal miniature from Nizami’s famous romance about Khusraw and Shirin written in Iran in the 12th C. Painted in Hyderabad, a state that was created in the Deccan india when the Mughal Empire had begun to disintegrate. The man is in persian garb while the woman wears Indian attire.
