Just discovered Open Exhibits software, which allows educational institutions to create multitouch, interactive exhibits. With the right amount of forethought and planning, museums (any place of informal learning really) could put this tech to great use. It can give the user near-complete control over what they want to learn from the exhibit by what they choose to interact with on the touch pad, and thus increase how much they learn.
