Morgan's Landing
I've just signed a contract with the Wild Rose Press for the publication of this small town mystery novel. The official cover hasn't been created yet.
Julie and Heather Morgan
Julie had spoken sharply to Heather, which was unusual. The twins usually got along well enough, better than most sisters...Julie was a few minutes older and could be bossy when she was in an impatient mood...Julie smiled mischievously into the camera, a pretty blonde girl with perfectly straight teeth. “Five three, about one hundred and ten pounds, just turned fourteen.”.
Detective Jim Brady
He had been with the Morgan’s Landing Police Department for twelve years, and this was only his second missing person case.
Detective Earl Kinsella
Earl Kinsella reported that he had questioned her classmates, none of whom remembered seeing her at school that day.
Julie's friends
Her closest friends—Lisa Hart, Daelyn Roberts, and Emily Morrison—were still with him in the music room when Jim arrived...They, like the twins, were diligent students and very nice girls, if a little entitled. Daelyn was the prettiest, with a raven-black ponytail and long eyelashes, and Lisa was the smartest, the one who won essay contests and got straight A’s.
Suspect A: Raymond Ochner
A thin, dark-haired man about forty opened the door. His face was pale and drawn, and his clothes—sweatpants and a T-shirt—were a little rumpled.
Julie's diary
It was a small red leather-bound book of narrow-ruled pages, each headed with a printed date, one page per day.
Suspect B: Bear Wayans
He had short hair, sort of brown, going gray, but he wasn’t too old, Thirties, maybe forty. He was wearing a sweater, like a pullover, but with a zipper halfway down...He resembled a ferret—a narrow face and small, red-rimmed eyes.
Frances Brady
Frances had Sarah nestled against her shoulder, patting her back...she had tied her pretty, soft brown curls back with a bandana.
Suspect C: Colin Brady
Young Colin Brady, fourteen and restless, gave the ocean a quick glance from his second-floor bedroom, but he was more interested in the figure of a girl marching up the street in the direction of the high school.
Suspect D: David Hartwell
He was a good-looking man about thirty, with a neatly trimmed mustache, long sideburns, and thick, wavy dark hair. The blurb accompanying the picture indicated he was new to the faculty, a Delaware transplant, and taught Algebra and Computer Applications.
Charlie
“He’s a Shih Tzu, white all over, with the sweetest little face you ever saw.”
