Great method of story telling. Each chapter is from the perspective of a different character in the book. It made me wonder what I would do if I was in the same situation. I laughed, cried, gasped, and became enraged at the horrible irony of the ending.

Lindsay's Pick: A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini. "Two women band together against the challenges they face as the taliban comes to power in Afghanistan and they are forces by circumstances beyond their control to marry men they grow to hate."

I read this book well before the movie came out, and I really enjoyed the story. The movie didn't really capture the essence of the book in my opinion. So if you've only seen the movie, I highly recommend going back and reading the book.

People keep calling this "the next Twilight." I consider that an insult. This series has good writing and a heroine that's actually worth looking up to. She's tough, independent, and doesn't throw her whole life away on the first guy that shows interest.

One of my all time favorites. I am told that it correctly depicts the smells, tastes and day-to-day of the beautiful Afghan culture properly and respectfully.
