Dryer cleaning You would NOT believe the amount of crud we got out of our dryer! This is a MUST DO! I'm sure it will dry much faster.

Wash your towels in hot water with a cup of vinegar, then run again in hot water with a half-cup of baking soda. That will strip your towels from all of that residue & mildew smell & will actually leave them feeling fluffy & smelling fresh.

Keep this in mind if you start seeing lots of spiders around your place. Natural spider killer or preventer... take one cup of vingar, one cup of pepper, a teaspoon of oil and liquid soap. Put it into a spray bottle and spray along the outside of your outside door and along windows; refresh after it rains.

Another Pinner Wrote: Homemade Carpet Powder. I think I'm going to try this! Some comments mentioned If you add a cup of borax to this mixture it will kill any bugs that may be in your carpet! (fleas, etc!)Another said:I use nutmeg or clove ground with baking soda, and everyone can't find why my house smells so inviting and homey

THIS REALLY WORKS AND LAUNDRY IS SUPER SOFT!!! Soak a hand towel in fabric softener. Squeeze out any remaining drops from the towel. Hang it over a chair (or outside on a clothes line) to dry. My house smelled super clean for the three days while this towel was drying completely. Yes, it took three days! You must make sure it dries completely! After the towel dries you just throw it in your dryer along with clothes and use it as a dryer sheet for 40-50 loads before soaking again.

* For us Southern girls who grew up being told to NEVER EVER wash your cast irons with soap...scrub your cast iron with coarse salt and a soft sponge. The salt is a natural abrasive and will absorb oil and lift away bits of food while preserving the pan's seasoning. Rinse away salt and wipe dry. FINALLY!!!!

Once a month, I add a cup of Distilled White Vinegar and a cup of baking soda during the HOT cleaning cycle. I pour them directly into the drum. Then, I add about ½ cup of vinegar and ½ cup of baking soda into the detergent dispenser.
