"Slumber Party Game" -- I wonder what the modern 'slumber party' is like for kids? I mean what with phone apps and things, do kids play talk-games, or have they become text-games? ... Bah, either way this is a neat idea.
Morning meeting idea. Toss 'n Talk ball. Have them sit in a circle and toss the ball around. Whichever question is under their right thumb has to be answered. Good idea for training icebreakers.

Slap! Call out a word and first person to slap it, adds it to their pile..... vocabulary, sight words, math facts... so many possibilities!
Vocabulary Words, Idea, Student, Multiplication Facts, Sight Words Games, Math Facts, Card, Kindergarten Blog, Kid
Slap Words! The game is simple. I put our vocabulary words on different colored sheets of tag board. (That way if a word gets mixed up with another stack, it's easy to spot.) Words cards lie on top of table face up. I call out a word. Person to find it first slaps their hand down on top of the card, then takes the card and puts it to the side in "their pile". Person with the most words wins! Sight word game literacy
Slap Words! I love this simple word wall game. Put sight words on different colored sheets of tag board. Lay the words cards on top of the table face up. Call out a word. The person to find it first slaps their hand down on top of the card, then takes the card and puts it to the side in "their pile". The person with the most words wins! This would be great with Math facts. This could work as review for kids at home that are struggling with learning to read or with their multiplication facts!
Read out sight words, first to slap it keeps it. winner is the child with the most cards Chalk Talk: A Kindergarten Blog: My Favorite Pins for the Weekend
Vocabulary word slap cards....teacher says a defintion then the first student to slap the card gets to keep it in their pile. Great idea for learning sight words for younger kids
Slap Words! The game is simple. I put our vocabulary words on different colored sheets of tag board. Words cards lie on top of table face up. I call out a word. Person to find it first slaps their hand down on top of the card, then takes the card and puts it to the side in "their pile". Person with the most words wins! Could also do this where the teacher reads a definition or shows a picture and students need to slap the word that corresponds or with math facts.

Word family literacy center idea
Literacy station ideas. toss the pom-pom into the muffin tin. Read the word family on which the pom-pom lands. Write a word from the word family on a paper. Continue as time allows. Could work for older kids using prefixes and suffixes - maybe on dice? Could be used with musical notes to create measures of music.
Toss, read and write! Sight words and word families game! Prefixes and suffixes
Word Work Toss...Instead of using a muffin tin, I used a vegetable/fruit plastic tray with separated sections that I bought from Dollar Tree. It is durable and the tray I got gives kids seven word families to work with at a time...adapt for articulation words. LOVE the round Center Title in the paper holder
