Novocherkassk Ascension Cathedral is the Russian Orthodox church in Rostov Region, Russia. It used to be one of the largest churches of the Russian Empire and the main church of the Don Cossack Province. It was erected between 1891 and 1904 on the site of an earlier church. The atamans of the Don Cossack Host are buried in the church.The cathedral is famous for a large crystal put into the cross of the main dome.
