CSA: Summer Share
Gone are the leafy vegetables of spring! July and August are the peak of nightshade season: tomatoes big and small, peppers, and eggplant come pouring in. We also see summer squash, potatoes and carrots, and a LOT of corn. Stone fruits and berries arrive at the market. In the summer, I make a lot of Italian and Tex-Mex-inspired dishes and a few curries to change things up, as well as raw salads (sans lettuce) and slaws.
