This chart was created using Thanet Creative's "Words Counted" tool. It shows how long or short William Shakespeare's words were in his play, Macbeth. As you can see, the Bard tended to use a lot of shorter words with the odd long word sprinkled in. Words Counted is a free tool that anyone can use to measure their own words. As well as charting word sizes, it also shows you which words you use most often.
