I did this in my special ed classroom this year - made a page of mini lines and copied front and back for management and kept page for each student to prevent always doing the same thing. After a couple of weeks I redid and designed my own that fit my students best.

Have children create a bracelet using a green bead for the beginning, a red bead for the ending and 3 or more other beads for the middle. As children retell a story have them slide a bead from left to right for the beginning and then another bead for each story component. With younger children I would use three detail (middle beads) however, you may wish to increase the number with older students.

Scrabble Recording Sheet With Tiles- Daily 5 Word Work; I'll use this as a warm-up. Just use Spanish characters & have students use Spanish words! I could also put actual tiles on the elmo projector or on each table. It would move a lot faster than a full game, and would encourage 100% participation.

Here's a FREE Speller's Choice Menu that can be used with any spelling list. The kids love it because there's a variety of activities to choose from, and teachers love it because these activities manage to incorporate phonics, grammar, writing AND math!!! :) I just place it in a sheet protector in their take-home binder for them to use with homework every night.
