I created this welcome mat for my high school Spanish classroom based on one I saw on etsy. The other one just said hola. It was $38. I bought this carpet remnant from Family Dollar for $2, spent $2.14 on acrylic paint and a paintbrush, and free handed this in 30 minutes. I'm hoping that it adds a little bit of fun to the hallway. I was concerned about the color and students' muddy shoes, but even if I have to make another one later, the price difference is worth DIY! :)
