A pinner said: I'm moving out of my apartment and just cleaned my entire place with nothing but a gallon of white vinegar, a small box of baking soda, a little dish detergent, and water. It worked better than any other commercial cleaner, and it worked for EVERYTHING. I'm never cleaning with anything else again- though in the future I'll use scented vinegar
I did not know this! Outdoor use. flies HATE pine-sol. Mix it with water, about 50/50 and put it in a spray bottle. Use to wipe counters or spray on the porch and patio table and furniture Drive them away!
When buying fruit and veggies, always soak them in a 1:4 ratio of vinegar and water to help remove toxins and pesticides. Leave them soaking for up to an hour, longer with nonorganic apples. At the end of the bath, sometimes you can even see cloudy like stuff in the water from the skins and waxes, and dirt on the bottom. Once this was done to blackberries and they were good for 3 WEEKS! That's unheard of with berries & water. The vinegar is KEY.
Weekly cleaning list - Been putting this into practice. Finding that with nearly 3K sf on two floors this is an Upstairs/Downstairs list - Week 1 & 3 are followed for downstairs living areas and Week 2 & 4 to be followed for upstairs bedrooms and bonus room (with a little variation like beds changed weekly and bathrooms all cleaned on all weeks).
