I would add that it has been suggested by professionals in the field of mental health that people with BPD tend to be emotionally stunted - often around the age that a traumatic event may have occurred. So if a traumatic event occurred at the age of 3, would you call a 3 year old manipulative if they struggle with regulating emotions or have fear of abandonment etc?
Myth: People with BPD are really needy narcissists. Fact: Although it may appear on the outside that BPD and NPD are two sides of one coin, the underlying reason for behavior and actions is fundamentally different. Individuals with NPD have a core belief that others can not meet their standards. Individuals with BPD have a core belief that we will never be good enough to meet anyone's standards.
Having (BPD), borderline personality disorder is super difficult and when it wants to act up, it can ruin your life and leave you totally alone.. Not because people don't like us, but because sometimes we don't like ourselves at ALL. Therefore we push people away, it is a form of punishment to ourselves. ~ Ana ~ Page site: https://www.facebook.com/BorderlinePersonalityDisorderInsight My Blog: http://simplyeye.wordpress.com/
