Today's number is . This is a one page document that can be used as part of a math journal. Teachers can choose a different number each day. Can be adjusted for older or younger kids.

I made mats like this and my class loves to play. We keep score on the board for who wins each 'hand'. I call out, "Draw 2 (or 3) cards and make the least/greatest number possible." I also made one which includes thousands, for later.

Place value game using playing cards. Ask students to draw 2 or 3 cards and then ask them to make a number with the least or greatest value. Or just 2 columns to name more or less with 2 cards
