Hula Hoop- These just scream the ’50′s to me, even though they’re still popular today. In 1957 the Wham-O toy company launched a plastic hula hoop that exploded in sales over the next 3 years. The longest Hula Hoop duration record is held by Roxann Rose of the United States, who went 90 hours between 2 April and 6 April 1987. I can hula hoop for approximately 1 second. Wham-O!
hula hoops - won a hula hoop contest in my 30's. Even my brother could do it, it would bounce above or below his beer belly!

The Admiral Twin Drive-In in Tulsa, Oklahoma was featured in the movie "The Outsiders". It burned down in 2010 but has been rebuilt and is showing movies again.
Tulsa's Admiral Twin Drive-In opened originally as a single screen in 1951. A second screen was added a year later and renamed The Admiral Twin Drive-In. It epitomizes the nostalgic drive-in movie theatres of the past, so much so that it was featured in the Francis Ford Coppola's classic 'The Outsiders' as the 1950s hangout. Located directly off historic Route 66,

My parents say that although I wasn't very into dolls, I absolutely loved troll dolls! My parents used to take my hiking in Toll Canyon and about half way up there was a hollowed out tree where someone had made a "troll house". There was always magical dust sprinkled around it and in it, as well as several different troll dolls. Every once in a while I would bring a troll doll with me and would put him in the house. I truly thought troll dolls were so magical.

Drive-In Reminiscing I saw this picture going around Facebook - does anyone remember these? Well, as a child of the 60’s and 70’s, I sure do!! In fact, I’m lucky to live near a place where these are still being used – the Drive-In movie theater. The family across the street, The Langs, had the best driveway in the neighborhood for hopscotch. Played a lot!
Supplies needed: chalk or sidewalk paint, stones/bottlecaps or bean bags. Flat stones are best. They don't roll! Playing hopscotch is easy. First, make the paint to create your hopscotch grid. The...

Metal ice-cube tray! LOVE these

Metal ice cube trays. My ice maker in my fridge quit working this summer, I found a pair of these at the 127 garage sale. I didn't want plastic.
Metal Ice Cube Tray. Pull the lever up and out pop the ice cubes. In theory. Sometimes a strong grasp was needed to raise that lever and sometimes it would help to run the tray under water so a bit of melting would occur.
Metal ice cube trays sometimes made it really hard to get out the ice cubes because they froze really well onto the metal.
State-of-the-art metal ice cube tray. Pull the lever up, and voila!, the ice cubes would pop right out .... sometimes. Or... you could cut your finger right open trying to pull so hard.
Metal ice-cube tray...I soooo remember the ice flying all over the place when you pull the lever
Metal ice tray. Hated these...if your fingers were wet they'd stick to the metal tray.
