When to plant... Planting Chart... very helpful!

When to Plant Vegetables Reference Chart: Here’s a handy chart to help you determine when to plant vegetables in the garden. They’re divided into two groups: Cool-Season and Warm-Season

Planting tomatoes with a couple of aspirin and some crushed chicken egg shells. The aspirin is to help jump start the plant's immune system. I'll put three or four crushed egg shells into the hole as well. The eggs supply a nice calcium boost, which will help prevent blossom end rot, that nasty brown patch on the bottom of tomatoes that lack calcium (the fish head bones and bone meal also help with that).

Tomatoes need calcium to achieve their full flavor potential. When planting tomato plants crush up (to powder) about 4 or 5 egg shells and put them in the bottom of the hole. Then plant tomato on top. They'll provide calcium and prevent blossom end rot.

Mailbox with geraniums in whiskey barrel. This is so pretty. Nice for everyone who passes by.~~I love the way this looks but my brother was a mail carrier and he hated mailbox gardens due to the bees wasps that it attracts.
