First time I saw "A Patch Of Blue" I was in Jr. High. As I recall, it was the first inter-racial kiss in the movies up to that point. I knew, seeing that movie , Sidney Poitier a man I would  hope I could  someday meet, and would greatly admire the rest of my life.. This is a fabulous movie.
