All the Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr, 2014 National Book Award Longlist, Fiction Audiobook- Finished March 2015
All the Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr: Loved this book. Took me a while to get into it though. So sad! Set during WW 2 - overlapping story of blind French girl hiding from German occupation and young German boy forced to fight on the German side.
"All the Light We Cannot See" Anthony Doerr's language and characters are gripping and pull you quickly into their world as the build-up to World War II looms on the horizon. A blind French girl and her dad flee the Nazi invasion, while an orphan boy's radio skills aid the Germans. Eventually their lives intersect in a surprising way.
All the Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr, a stunningly ambitious and beautiful novel about a blind French girl and a German boy whose paths collide in occupied France as both try to survive the devastation of World War II

Margaret Mitchell, Books Movies, Civil War, Reading List, Books Books, Favorite Books, Favorite Movie
"Gone With The Wind" by Margaret Mitchell - Set against the dramatic backdrop of the American Civil War, Margaret Mitchell's epic love story is an unforgettable tale of love and loss, of a nation mortally divided and its people forever changed. At the heart of all this chaos is the story of beautiful, ruthless Scarlett 'O' Hara and the dashing soldier of fortune, Rhett Butler.
Gone with the Wind... Seriously one of my all time favorite books! Remarkably different than the movie (altho who doesn't love Clark Gabel anyways!)
Gone with the Wind. My favorite book/movie. Alternates with The Ghost and Mrs. Muir with Gene Tierney (who auditioned for the part of Scarlet) and Rex Harrison. Ahh the perfect day....watching both!
Gone With the Wind, by Margaret Mitchell. A fun, fast read about many VERY FLAWED but fascinating characters during and after the Civil War.
Author, Margaret Mitchell, was born on November 8th. Gone with the Wind, my all time favorite book!
I have never read...next on my reading list!
One of my favorite books & movies.

Life of Pi --- One of my favorite books of ALL time. A must read!
Book Club, Yann Martel, Books I Ve, Life Of Pi, Reading List, Martel Life, Books Books, Favorite Books
Life of Pi - Yann Martel. Fantasy/religious commentary, literary fiction. A young boy finds himself on a lifeboat, adrift in the ocean with nothing for company but a man-eating tiger.
Life of Pi Yann Martel. A worthy, well-written, creative novel, which was almost universally despised by every member of my book club. Discussion was brief because most did not buy into the fantastical tale.
Life of Pi | Yann Martel | Fiction | Possessing encyclopedia-like intelligence, unusual zookeeper's son Pi Patel sets sail for America, but when the ship sinks, he escapes on a life boat and is lost at sea with a dwindling number of animals until only he and a hungry Bengal tiger remain. | Grades 9-12 | #books #fiction #highschool
Life of Pi: Yann Martel: -Read, odd but entertaining, could have done without the interview in the end.
Life of Pi / Yann Martel ~ Life of Pi is a masterful and utterly original novel that is at once the story of a young castaway who faces immeasurable hardships on the high seas, and a meditation on religion, faith, art and life that is as witty as it is profound. Using the threads of all of our best stories, Yann Martel has woven a glorious spiritual adventure that makes us question what it means to be alive, and to believe.
