I agree and I don't agree. Sometimes when people offer something up, along the lines of you need to try and do something, they are saying, if you have a physical medical condition you go to a doctor/do pt/ rest it/ take an action towards healing... consider they are trying to say that with mental illness, there is a certain amount of action we should be responsible for taking in order to heal too. Empathize don't sympathize, support don't judge.
