Kashubian embroidery patterns (Poland). Meaning of colors: royal blue – lakes; blue – sky; navy - profound depth of the Baltic sea; yellow - fields of ripening grain or sun; green - the forests and meadows; red - the blood; black - the earth on the field waiting to be sown and Kashubian’s hard work.

In Poland there is a style of embroidery called “Haft Kaszubski” which is essentially Kashubian embroidery. It’s a lovely style with great colour combinations - especially for those who like blue.
