Unidentified Family c.1891
Unidentified family posing for a photograph in front of a home around 1891. This glass negative was among others of streetviews of Mahone Bay so we believe the portrait was taken in Mahone Bay as well. We're hoping someone will recognize this family! We love the old wicker baby carriage. They don't make baby carriages like that anymore! Look at the size of those wheels!

Baird Chester" | Facebook

Mahone Bay Museum - After a little bit of investigative work, we were able to find out which hockey team is in this photo we found in our backlog but we still don't have any names for the people. This is the Lunenburg Victoria Team. All we know is that the hockey team was created in 1898 (thanks to the Town of Lunenburg website: https://www.explorelunenburg.ca/timeline-1830-to-1901.html) and there is another team photo from 1907 with the same coaches that we found on the internet (http://hockeygods.com/images/9704-Victoria_Hockey_Team___Lunenburg___Nova_Scotia___1907). We have no other information about the team, the league, or the championship they appear to have won in this photo (which we've dated around 1905). Perhaps you can help Lunenburg County Sport Heritage Society and Nova Scotia Sport Hall of Fame? Please share with anyone who has early 1900s hockey knowledge of our area or had family members who played hockey around 1905. We believe one of the players was likely from Mahone Bay area. | Facebook
