Summer is in full gear here in Texas and what better way to celebrate than with a Summer Syllable Sort. This product is something that you can easily do at home over the summer for a refresher activity or place in a center for classroom use. Teachers and parents have enough on their plate so low prep is sometimes the right answer and this resource requires you to do very little. Simply print and laminate for extra durability. Cut out a few cards and then you are ready to go!
Do you teach your students the various syllable types? This document contains a list of 300, decodable, multisyllabic words. I have my remedial reading students practice decoding larger words, using syllable division rules, daily. They draw a line to show each syllable, and then they label the syllable type underneath.
