Antique vanity table found in a Parisian apartment that hadn't been open for 70 years.
Abandoned Paris Apartment, 1 of 5. The owner of this apartment, Mrs. De Florian left Paris just before the rumblings of World War II broke out in Europe. She closed up her shutters and left for the South of France, never to return to the city again. Seven decades later she passed away at the age of 91. It was only when her heirs enlisted professionals to make an inventory of the Parisian apartment she left behind, that this time capsule was finally unlocked.
A gorgeous vanity found in a Parisian apartment left untouched for over 70 years and discovered a few years ago. Don't know the details of this piece of furniture but I love it!

Start on January 1st with an empty jar. Throughout the year write the good things that happened to you on little pieces of paper. On December 31st, open the jar and read all the amazing things that happened to you that year.

I like this idea. Start the year with an empty jar and fill it with notes about good things that happen. Then, on New Years Eve, empty it and see what awesome stuff happened that year. Good way to keep things in perspective. We are doing this for our first year of marriage--a memory jar. Then on our one year anniversary, we'll read them all.
Would make a great Christmas gift for family members...or for all those December hostess gifts you need! Just decorate them and add the "first" memory! Start the year with an empty jar and fill it with notes about good things that happen. Then, on New Years Eve, empty it and see what awesome stuff happened that year. Good way to keep things in perspective!
Start the year with an empty jar and fill it with notes about good things that happen. Then, on New Years Eve, empty it and see what awesome stuff happened that year. Good way to keep things in perspective. - maybe next year? Also a cute idea to do for a deployed parent ... write each new or good thing the child or children did and date it for them to read when they get home My personal note: could use as year end wrap highlight reel for family (in rl or v book)

Armadura de George Clifford 3° Conde de Cumberland , 1558-1605 Metropolitan Museum NYC
The armour of Sir George Clifford, 3rd Earl of Cumberland (1558 - 1605) who was an English peer, as well as a naval commander and courtier in the court of Queen Elizabeth I. He was made a Knight of the Garter. He captured the Spanish fort in San Juan, Puerto Rico, in 1598. A favorite of Queen Elizabeth I he chose for the decoration of this armor the Tudor rose, the French fleur-de-lis (then part of the English arms), and the cipher of Elizabeth, two E’s back to back.

Aikido (合気道) O sensei Morihei Ueshiba
Aikido (合気道) is a Japanese martial art developed by Morihei Ueshiba as a synthesis of his martial studies, philosophy, and religious beliefs. Aikido is often translated as "the Way of unifying (with) life energy" or as "the Way of harmonious spirit." Ueshiba's goal was to create an art that practitioners could use to defend themselves while also protecting their attacker from injury. Is performed blending with the motion of the attacker and redirecting the force of the attack.

For Years, as a child I had dreams of a Samurai Warrior. I lived and breathed this life with him until I was about 13. No contact with the Japanese culture, there was much I knew and understood. I still see his beautiful face. Sometimes I wonder if we can inherit a memory from places and people our soul has resided in...sigh - add me on Facebook - http://facebook.com/kurt.a.tasche
