this is probably one of the most depressingly heart-wrenching photos. Native American children taken from their familis and put into school to assimilate them into white society. The slogan for this governmental campaign '"kill the Indian to save the man". no official apology has ever been issued. Never forgotten.
Even though there are many other trees that are taller and wider at their base, they are no match to the infamous General Sherman tree. This tree outranks anything living on this planet by its sheer volume (excluding branches) and is considered to be the largest living organism on this planet. The estimated age of this tree is around 2,300-2,700 years old. It has survived multiple fires, climate change and – thankfully – the modern-day man.
A beautiful picture of Native Americans in Winter. It was created in 1908 by Edward S. Curtis. The picture presents Two Crow (Apsaroke) Indian men. One is horseback. The ground is covered with snow, and trees and hillside are seen in the background.
