These addictive crispy shallots take only minutes to make in the microwave... then the sky's the limit on how you use these crispy, salty, rings of garnish fantastic-ness. Sprinkle these over anything that would be more lovely with crispy, sweet, and salty goodness. Roasted vegetables, soups, eggs, really, almost anything. You may want to hide them or make a double batch as my family can't resist snacking on them.
These are DOWNRIGHT D E L I C I O U S. The pork belly is slowly braised for 3 hours, so the meat becomes fall-apart tender. Then it's simmered in a sauce of mirin, sake, soy sauce, and a lil' sugar that creates the flavor phenomena of a pork belly taco. Check out my blog for all the deets and LET'S GET COOKIN'!!!!
There is nothing that says comfort food like a popover. A popover is a lovely roll made from an egg batter and baked in popover pans (or you can use a muffin pan). Popovers are soft on the inside and crispy on the outside with cheesy goodness baked on top. These are a perfect side dish to any meal or can be served as a brunch option with jam, but always with some soft butter.
Pavlova, it is a meringue-based dessert that has a lovely crisp shelled crust with a chewy and tender inside, then is topped with freshly whipped cream and fresh fruit. This dessert is as gorgeous as it is delicious and best of all, it looks so complex and impressive, you’d think it's incredibly hard to make, but no, it is quite simple and made with very few ingredients that I bet you have on hand.
