Sticky Kitchen Cabinets - If it seems like no amount of kitchen cleaner will remove the grime from years of frying chicken or meatballs, try using Murphy's Oil Soap. Mix it in equal parts with water and a dash of paint thinner until the mixture looks milky white. Wearing rubber gloves, rub the solution over the wood with a soft cloth, then wipe off with clean dry paper towels.
I found this tip online to clean old paint off of your cabinet hardware and it works great. Get an old pot and boil some water and baking soda. Submerge the hardware for around 10 minutes. Remove the hardware with tongs and while it's still hot scrub with a soft toothbrush. The paint falls off like magic. Now I can reuse all the original vintage hardware!
Another Use for Vinegar and Dawn Decided to clean out my kitchen cabinets and decided to take vinegar and squirt in some dawn detergent because I want the bottom of cabinets clean and sterile. (vinegar and water is used to sterilize cpap machines). I spilled some on the floor near brass register and noticed it started cleaning the tarnished brass. I then scrubbed the register and let it soak several times and my register is now almost like new.
Best Carpet Cleaner/Spot Remover: Baking soda, 1T white vinegar, 1T clear Dawn dish soap, 2 C warm water & spray bottle. If dry, dampen spot(s) with water OR white vinegar & sprinkle with some soda. Let it bubble 10 minutes to absorb stain or stain disappears. Mix 1T vinegar, the dawn & water; pour into spray bottle. Spritz stain & scrub. Let dry & vacuum. *Use on old OR new stains! Works so well you may need to clean entire carpet! :)
