'60s Television

A selection of television shows and a few movies that I watched as a kid. Saturday morning was a ritual that began around 7:00 AM and lasted until noon. At that time we'd change out of our pajamas. Every evening our entire family would sit down in the living room and watch television together. We had a black and white television set and 11 channels to choose from and I never said, "I'm bored."

The New People ~ My family started watching this when it first aired but quickly lost interest. Apparently, so did everyone else because it didn't last long. As I recall it was a blend of Lord of the Flies and "Don't trust anyone over 30." Meh...

Car 54 Where Are You?

Beanie and Cecil ~ I loved this cartoon as a kid. I seem to recall having a Cecil plush toy too.

Perry Mason ~ As a child I never really watched Perry Mason. It always came on at my bedtime so my parents' goal was to get me in bed before it started. My memory of Perry Mason, therefore, was of hearing the theme song playing in the living room as I dropped off to sleep.

My Favorite Martian ~ One of my most favorite shows!

Edd Byrnes as Kookie and Sue Randall from 77 Sunset Strip ~ "Kookie! Kookie! Lend me your comb!"
