THIS is why you should have a Get Home Bag -By APN January 30, 2014

Emergency Preparedness

Here are some great pointers, some of which you may be overlooking in your food prepping.

WaterBrick storage in pantry. Great idea for emergency water storage. More portable than 55 gallon water barrels.

Converting a regular toilet to emergency toilet. Shut off water. Flush water out of bowl. Line bowl with 13 gal. plastic bag. Duct tape edges. Tape handle to prevent accidental flush. You can add a few cups of kitty litter to the bag or simply pour some bleach in the bottom of it. Have twist ties handy for daily disposal. Cover entire toilet with a 30 gal bag to control odor.

Friday, June 14, 2013 -A Man's Got to Know His Limitations I feel compelled to recognize my limitations. In regards to preparing for bad times, this means several things to me.

Shut off plans (power and wire map) Don't wait for a clogged drain, a leaking pipe, or power failure, a hole in a pipe spraying water all over...like a Disney cartoon...and we didn't know how to turn off the water! NEVER AGAIN!

In a emergency a crayon will burn for 30 minutes.
