The Five Awesomest TV and Movie Spaceships

Science fiction might be all about the future, the possibilities and limits of human beings when placed in extraordinary situations. It might offer a way to explore hot political topics through a less incendiary medium. But who cares? The best things about sci-fi are the rides: the hyperspace-surfing, gravity-defying spacecraft. Freed from the constraints of […]

Moonbase Interceptor from the UFO TV show. As kids we loved how much of the ship was missile. Hard, however, to overlook the inefficiency of these defenders of Earth having only one shot each. 70s Tv Shows, Sci Fi Tv Shows, Great Tv Shows, Ufo Tv Series, Science Fiction Series, Sci Fi Models, Sci Fi Ships, Vintage Tv, Retro Futurism

Airfix re-issuing Captain Scarlett's Angel Interceptor in 2011

Here's a bit of good news for all Gerry Anderson's fans. Airfix has announced (look for "Space 1:72 scale - no images there though) that they will be re-issuing out the 1/72 scale Captain Scarlett Angel Interceptor. I vaguely remember this puppet animated series ... then again I remembered being scared off my wits watching those type of puppet shows at that tender young age. I loved the fighters though. I knew a cousin of mine was interested in this kit. I was taken aback when I found out…

Colonial Viper MkII from the original show. Some say a rip off of the X-wing but It was the Saber that inspired the design and would work today with some small mods. Stargate, Battlestar Galactica 1978, The Originals Show, Starship Concept, Spaceship Art, Sci Fi Models, Sci Fi Ships, Space Crafts, Old Tv

Colonial Viper MkII

Vallejo, PP and Tamiya acrylics, GW acrylic washes, Tamiya weathering powders. Moebius Models' recently released kit from the new Galactica series. Scale is very similar to the Revell kit of the original series Viper - maybe a touch smaller but close enough. Great kit, highly recommended.

From Captain Scarlet, the Angel Interceptor. Jet fighters flown by multi ethnic female pilots. Not just the tech that was years ahead of reality. Christopher Eccleston, Scarlet, Doctor Who, Thunderbirds Are Go, Sci Fi Tv Shows, Sci Fi Ships, Futuristic Cars, Old Tv, Sci Fi Fantasy

Continued from part 3 35: Alien craft – UFO (UK TV, 1970)| RETURN TO INDEX Gerry Anderson’s dark sci-fi series featured an race of stealthy aliens secretly plundering Earth for human organs to sustain their own dying physiognomies. League of Extraordinary Bloggers Weekly Theme: Where Are They Now?

This week's topic: The 80′s and 90′s were filled with kids and teens in the movies. Which movie would you like to see a sequel made in 2012 with the original cast members, who have aged the same as you and me. As soon as I read this week's assignment, I immediately thought of Goonies. But, then I thought that, chances are, so has everyone else. I mean, come on, how awesome would a Goonies sequel be, with everyone all grown up, perhaps passing the legacy down to their kids, who then go on…

The Artwork Of Peter George Elson

The ten year old me would have loved Peter Elson's artwork and truth be told the adult me thinks it's pretty badass as well. His painting are filled with all the things boys love from mighty spaceships to scary monsters. You can see more of his work here.
