Edward Jean Steichen (1879–1973) was an American photographer & the most featured photographer in Alfred Stieglitz' groundbreaking magazine Camera Work (1903-17). Steichen's photos of gowns by couturier Paul Poiret in Art et Décoration (1911) were the 1st modern fashion photographs ever published.
